Lack of Sexual Desire

Other terms: inhibited sexual desire (ISD); hypoactive sexual desire; sexual apathy; sexual aversion

Are You Experiencing Any of These Issues?

  • You or your partner are often too tired or not in the mood for sex
  • You and your partner don’t agree about how often to have sex
  • “Not tonight dear” has turned into weeks, month or years without sex
  • You or your partner feel angry or frustrated about the lack of sex in your relationship
  • Your relationship is suffering because of the lack of physical affection or sex

Many couples are concerned about low sexual desire in one of the partner.  Inhibited sexual desire occurs in men and women and can result in emotional distress and serious relationship issues.  Physical affection may also be withheld because the person fears it could lead to unwanted sexual activity.  The underlying psychological issues of sex avoidance can include:  fear of rejection, performance anxiety, body image concerns, and fear of criticism or disapproval.

If you have any of the concerns mentioned above, Dr Boulware’s unique sex therapy program can help you and your partner resolve these issues.
